Voices of the North started in 1993 with a small group of like minded people who knew there needed to be more opportunity for Indigenous people in the music scene. This group consisted of Bernice Sayese, Doug and Claudette Moran, Lorna Tait, Gerald Greyeyes, Julie Roy and Sheryl Kimbley. It began with an audience of 200 and has grown to full shows each year as well as many community shows throughout the year.
